Learning through
Extra-Curriculum...
Annual Day
Why do we celebrate the annual day of our school? Is it because every school celebrates? The answer is “no”. It is to impress the parents on the music and dance performance of their children? Hear again the answer is “NO”. We celebrate with a difference.
It is to show-case how we have helped the kids to develop their learning ability through the exta-curricullar activities of song and dance through out the year.
We have not trained the kids for just one-evening performance. Everysong we have selected is to convey to all the kids what they should learn from the song. In every day practice session for the annual day we speak about what they should learn from the song and try to implement in their daily lives.
In every dance practice we encourage the kids to observe the grace and beauty of the movement. Encourage them to bring grace and beauty in whatever they do in their daily lives.
Almost every child has learnt the dances you see performed on the stage by only a few kids.
You will realize this by observing what the children communicate with you on stage.

The aim of this celebration is to make the parents realise how the school has enhanced the ability of the children to express ideas clearly and demonstrate the truth of their statement through experiments.
“This is Science”
We want children to develop a gradual appreciation to treat ‘Science’ not as a subject but as a ‘tool’. Physics, Chemistry and Biology are not sciences. In each of these fields there are statements (so called laws) which can be experimentally verified.
Theory connecting to experiment is science. Performing this act of science was what the children are celebrating on the science day.
The school’s effort is to make “everyday is a science day”.
Science Day

Krishna Janmashtami
This is not a religious festival that we are celebrating. We are celebrating to make the children to understand the human side of lord Krishna. Lord Krishna could have done everything he did sitting in the heaven. Why he has to be born as a human being?
What idea we can give to a child about this? We want children to observe the naughtiness and playfulness of Krishna as a child. He was troubling his mother but in a delightful way.
Be like child-Krishna when you are a child is the idea. We want to be ingrained in every child.

Sports Day
“Sportsman spirit” is the key. It is the human-quality we want children to develop at very young-age. Competing in a sports-event is to compete to improve your performance and not to outperform your competitor. Sports-man spirit is competing with yourself to better your performance.
Once you learn this through sports it will percolate to all your daily activities in your life.
